About Wesley McDonald

Advice for New Home Buyers

My best advice to new home buyers is to find a Real Estate Agent and a Loan Officer with the heart of a teacher. When you find a professional with the heart of a teacher, they will naturally take the time to explain the process and walk you through every step to make sure you feel comfortable and educated.

Without a doubt, the Kansas City Chiefs are my favorite sports team.

My wife and I lived in a travel trailer for approximately 10 months while traveling the country. This was part of an extended honeymoon and our first big adventure together.

I graduated College with a Master’s Degree from Northwest Missouri State University.

What is on your bucket list?

One of my biggest bucket list items is to be 100% debt-free including the mortgage! My goal is to achieve this by the age of 40.

What aspect of your job are you most passionate about?

I am most passionate about educating my clients. I believe when my clients feel like they have learned something and were able to make an educated financial decision, that’s when they feel they received 5-star service.

Where did you grow up?

I was actually born in North Carolina, but I grew up just south of Kansas City in a very small town called Adrian. I graduated in a class of 34 kids, but absolutely cherish my childhood memories.

What are some of your hobbies?

Currently my life is consumed with my family. I have two young children that keep my wife and I on our toes at all times. If I do happen to get a day away from the house, I enjoy playing golf.

Before working at NBKC, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

Before NBKC, the most interesting Job I had was as a Course Facilitator at a Climbing facility. I worked with my wife; we helped teach college classes as well as guide corporate groups through a suspended obstacle course and multiple rock-climbing walls. If it paid more money, I may have never left.
