There are a lot of moving parts to keep track of when you’re switching to a new bank. But don’t stress, we’ve got a few suggestions to get you started.
nbkc is a mobile bank ⏤ available wherever you are with our online portal –and it’s like having a local branch right in your pocket. To get the most out of your account, you can’t really skip this step.
Plus, it’s really simple to set up.
Just follow this link and fill out the form.
Once you’ve got your online banking credentials set, download the mobile app so you can access your account wherever you are ⏤ from the couch, at the store, or on the beach, but definitely not while driving.
The app is everything you need, and nothing you don’t. It’s easy to navigate your accounts, deposit checks, pay your bills, and track your spending. And, have no fear, it’s available for both iOS and Android devices.
Paper statements are a drag, right? Do I keep them? Throw them away? What if I don’t have a shredder?
eStatements solve that problem. They’re online (like us), kept all in one place, super secure, and don’t take up any space in your “Important Documents” drawer.
Plus, no trees are harmed in the process ⏤ it’s a win-win.
There’s truly no reason not to opt in. Just head to the “Settings” tab in the online banking portal, and go from there.
Once you’ve got money in the bank, you can actually use it for stuff. Bills. Brunch. Battlestar Galactica? Yes to all that.

We’re glad you asked.
Once you get your card in the mail (it’s a MasterCard®), there should be a sticker on the front of it – give that number a call to activate your card and set up your PIN. After that, you’re ready to roll.
Your nbkc card is Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay compatible, of course.
If you’re in a pinch for some cash, you can always use your debit card at an ATM. MoneyPass® ATMs allow you to withdraw fee-free, but you can also get reimbursed up to $12 in ATM fees per month when you use any non-MoneyPass® ATM. Pretty nice, huh?
Oh, and if you’re traveling abroad, we don’t charge foreign transaction fees. Maybe give us a heads-up before you go though so we know it’s not a fraudulent charge.
Don’t worry. We’ve made this a breeze, too.
First, move over the big bills you know you can’t cancel. We’re talking about your rent or mortgage, utility bills, and all the other necessities.
Then, check your old bank activity for any recurring charges (streaming services, gym memberships, and so on), and update your payment info for each account as you go.
See? Super easy. We do recommend keeping your old bank account open for a while until all your payments are moved over. Once you’re in the clear, give your old bank a call and close your old account. They’ll let you know if there’s anything else outstanding you need to take care of before you go.
Now that your deposits, debit card, and automatic transfers are in order, you can look forward to more money in the bank with our no-frills, no-fees, no-fuss checking and savings accounts.
Don’t let the logistics of switching stop you from choosing a better bank. nbkc offers a ton of ways to help you Do Money Better ⏤ from checking and savings to business accounts to home loans. We offer simple solutions for real people like you.
